my uaz buhanka:about the buhanka:it's a 1986 model military UAZ-3962, largely unmodified mechanically. it was formerly a Soviet Air Forces radiocommunications van, where it housed the R-849M radiosuite. it was probably under the command of the 16th Air Army during the GSVG/GSFG, the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. After Soviet withdrawal of Germany in the early 1990s, the buhanka was demilitarized, which involved removal of its radiosuite, and fell into private ownership in Ukraine. there it was owned by a fisherman/hunter and used in the forest, and then it was refurbished (rust repair and engine work) before it was imported by someone in New Jersey, where it spent a few years until I bought it. what i've done:
as with all UAZa, it has a few issues of note that I've been working on fixing.
